Fracture patterns in midshaft clavicle fractures

Current classifications of midshaft clavicle fractures are based on radiography. The aim the study was to evaluate fracture pattern using 3-dimensional computed tomography (3D CT). A retrospective analysis performed CT scans 65 acute fractures. Using quantitative 3D reconstruction techniques, virtually reduced. Based these reconstructions, a group-based heat map and small fragment map, location most common line were determined. Also, direction amount displacement evaluated. Three patterns could be distinguished. primary in type 1 is going from posteromedial anterolateral located between 50% 68% clavicle’s length. Wedged fragments can seen types 2 mainly situated inferiorly. similar all types, but main specific for different (posterior, anterior, inferior).
